8 - RACE INSTRUCTIONS

15 - EVENTS

The Race Instructions will be available to participating yachts upon the completion of their registration on September 17th, 2008 from 10:00 am.

The Program of other events will be attached to the Race Instructions.

16 - RULES CONFORMITY 9 - RATING CERTIFICATES 1 - ORGANISATION The races will be organised by the « Comité Départemental Voile Azur 06 » and the Club Nautique of Nice with the assistance of the Y.C.M. - Yacht Club of Monaco under the aegis of the C.I.M. - Comité International de la Méditerrannée, of the A.F.Y.T. - Association Française des Yachts de Tradition and of the Y.C.F. - Yacht Club de France.

2 - PROGRAM • Tuesday September 16th Welcoming of Competitors starting at 5 pm • Wednesday September 17th Registration and Inspection of yachts: from 10 am to 6 pm • Thursday September 18th 1st Warning Signal: 11:30 • Friday September 19th 1st Warning Signal: 11:30 • Saturday September 20th 1st Warning Signal: 11:30 Prize Giving Ceremony from 6:30 pm (On the last day, no warning signal will be given after 3 pm) • Sunday September 21st Nice- Cannes Regatta, Trophée des Alpes-Maritimes Warning Signal : 11 am The Organisation and the Race Committee reserve the right to modify the schedule of the races after the first day.

3 - ADMISSION « Les Régates de Nice » are opened to Classic Yachts (vintage, classic and their replicas) in conformity with the specifications of CIM 2006-2009.

4 - REGISTRATIONS Registrations should be received before August 31st, 2008 at the Club Nautique of Nice 50 boulevard Franck Pilatte – 06300 Nice - FRANCE Telephone contact: Ligue de Voile Côte d’Azur, Melody +33 (0)4 93 74 77 05

Late registrations might be accepted, but the harbour berth will not be guaranteed. The final choice of registration of each yacht is dependant on the Organisation Committee. The Registration File must be completed on September 16th, 2008 before 6 pm with the following documents: 1. Completed Crew List with copies of the FFV licences and Doctor Certificate (In accordance with French Law, all crew members shall, in order to compete in the event, hold a medical certificate mentioning the absence of contra-indication for sailing activity, issued within last 12 months.) and any other documents issued by the governing sailing authority of their country (for foreign members) 2. The C.I.M. certificate for Vintage and Classic yachts 3. The Sail Declaration Form for sails used during the races 4. The Insurance Form certifying that the yacht is covered during sailing competitions as stated by the « I.S.A.F. » rule Registration fees: No charges. The yachts and their crews are invited by the Department.

5 - RULES The Races will be governed by: 1. The Racing Rules of the ISAF 2005-2008 2. The regulations of the Fédération Française de Voile 3. The C.I.M. Rules 2006-2009 for the rating and the racing of Vintage and Classic yachts and their modifications 4. The Notice of Race 5. The Race Instructions In case of a conflict of interpretation, the French text will prevail. Recommendations of « La Belle Classe » will be apllied.

Vintage and Classic yachts without a valid 2008 C.I.M. rating certificate will have to contact the A.F.Y.T. (Association Française des Yachts de Tradition) before August 31st, 2008. 10 - A.F.Y.T. INSPECTIONS From September 18th, 2008 the Technical Commission of the A.F.Y.T. will be entitled to inspect participating yachts.

The courses will be geometrical or coastal and will be defined in the Race Instructions.

All competitors taking part in the regatta do so entirely at their own risk-see RRS 4 « Decision to race ». The organising authorities do not accept any responsibility in the case of damage to equipment, injuries or death within the framework of the regatta, which includes before, during and after the regatta.

18 - INSURANCE Yachts will be divided into the following categories: 1. Vintage Yachts 2. Classic Yachts Under the C.I.M. Rules 2006-2009 and their modifications. These categories could be also divided into Classes according to their rig types and their length and/or their APM for Vintage and Classic Yachts.

Each participating yacht must be in possession of a valid third party insurance or equivalent, with a minimum cover of 1.5 million euros. The document provided must be the original document delivered by the insurance company.

19 - RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS 12 - CORRECTED TIMES AND CLASSES The results will be established in corrected time for each class or category under which the yachts have been divided. The corrected time of each yacht for each race will be calculated upon the C.I.M. Rules 2006-2009 and their modifications.

In participating at « Les Régates de Nice », each competitor automatically grants the organising authority the right to make, use and show at their discretion any representation of him or her, or the yacht without compensation.

6 - ADVERTISING AND TYPES OF RACES Under the C.I.M. Rules the event will be Category C for Vintage and Classic. Yachts will be able to show in the harbour advertisings provided by the organisation.

Each yacht will have to be in conformity with the sailing documents and with the registration and security rules of their national sailing authorities. The registration of each yacht is subject to the fundamental Rules of ISAF and of the C.I.M. Rules 2006-2009 and their modifications that is understood to be known by the competitor.

The Prizes will be awarded to the best places in the final results of each class and/or category.

14 - MOORINGS Moorings in Nice will be available to registered yachts from September 16th 5 pm and will have to be freed on September 22nd, 2008 11:00 am.
