Painter, what he shows – when it is not the paraphrase of a Titian’s Venus -, it is the horror described by Malaparte in Anton Pavlevic’s The Basket of Oysters (Kaputt) : bulging eyes pupil and iris still living, spreading out their viscosity geometrised in a receding line on a corner of a purple table. Most of his paintings are in black and white, vertical and very large; Telsa (1998) superimposes a photographic portrait from the 30’s and a half-open briefcase on which is placed a skull, development of the vanity theme. The graphics are somewhat reminiscent of Velickovic, but these large paintings give off a Castilian atmosphere; they make us think of Velazquez in a mournful style.
