Sequence Alignment of MreB Proteins from Various Bacteria with Eukaryotic ActinsSequences were as follows: human ActS (actshum), Schizosaccharomyces pombe Act1 (actyeast), B. subtilis MreB (mrebbs), and Mbl (mblbs), and MreB-like proteins from Streptomyces coelicor (stcoel), E. coli (mrebec), Chlymadia trachomaist (chl), Helicobacter pylori (heli), and Treponema pallidum (trep). The black shading highlights areas of complete sequence identity, and the light gray shading areas of sequence similarity in all 8 proteins.
