UNUSUALLY SHOCK-ABSORBENT MATERIALS Marinco designed the front body of its devices so it supports (“backs up”) the rear housing when completely assembled. This elegant design method of increasing strength allows Marinco to use more shock-absorbing nylon material than competing brands. As a result, Marinco is much less vulnerable to shattering or cracking when the connector is dropped, squeezed or otherwise abused.

Evan Steiner of Light & Sound Design has his own little informal tests for shock absorbency. First, he simply puts them into a vise and hits repeatedly with a hammer (ouch!). The competitions’ connectors break; Marinco’s connector just gets dented.

Steiner then installs a length of ground rod into a connector, using the device’s cord clamp. To simulate typical stage lighting conditions, Steiner drops the assembly from his roof onto pavement. The competitions’ connectors shatter and lose hold of the rod. The Marinco connector, on the other hand, has only a small dent on the housing and holds tight to the rod.

COMBINATION HEAD SCREWS PLEASE YOUR ASSEMBLERS & END-USERS

The tinning of wire leads is sometimes done to speed the insertion of wire into devices. But terminal clamps cannot fully compress tinned wires. Heat cycling of the device allows the solder to “cold flow” away from the terminal. The result is a loosening of the terminal’s pressure on the wire; decreased conductivity; causing overheating; melting of the solder; melting of the device and arcing. Marinco’s close-together wire entry holes and long, deep wire funnels make wire insertion easy, eliminating the need for expensive and potentially-hazardous lead tinning.

#2 Phillips is the preferred power drive bit of OEMs. But in the field, end-users may want to grab whatever driver is handy. So Marinco’s Combo Slot and Phillips Head Screws make everyone instantly compatible. Combo Head is found on 15, 20 & 30 Amp Marinco devices. Now for customers who require the ultimate in speed and reliability, Marinco SWD offers Combination Slot and Robertson Head Screws. Robertson drivers reduce slippage and “cam out,” and they are widely used in Canada per CSA. This “.CN” option requires only one size #1 Robertson driver for all devices (unlike other brands that need two sizes).

ASSEMBLER-FRIENDLY SPECIAL MARKINGS

The Marinco® OEM Program begins with a bulk packaging option. Unlike other manufacturers that ship each device in its own box, the exclusive Marinco bulk pack option provides easy access to 50 devices. In addition to greatly speeding up assembly times, the bulk pack also reduces cardboard waste.

Special hot stamping of color-coded dots, letters or orientation lines is another option. Stampings help the assembler quickly determine the proper wire selection, while orientation lines can aid end-users that make “blind mating” connections. Available in orders as small as 50 devices.

BACKED-OUT SCREWS & SEPARATED COMPONENTS ELIMINATE DISASSEMBLY! Another unique Marinco option is factory backed-out assembly screws. In turn, the bodies and housings of the devices can be immediately separated as they are removed from the shipping box. (Terminal screws and cord grip screws are also in the open position, again eliminating a disassembly task.) The speed-style assembly screws are twice as fast as conventional screws, so the backed-out option provides for assembly times that are four times faster than with regular devices.

IEC320 SPECIFICATION-GRADE CONNECTORS RUGGED CONNECTORS FOR INDUSTRIAL COMPUTERS, SERVERS, PERIPHERALS, UTILITY VEHICLES, STAGE LIGHTING, BROADCAST SOUND & VIDEO Marinco SWD has become the first manufacturer to offer premium IEC 320 connectors especially designed for critical applications that are subject to harsh handling and environments. The Marinco® 320IEC13 and 320IEC15 are built to the international standard for appliance couplers: IEC publication 60320. The rugged, re-wireable connectors can be used to supply power to a wide range of electronic equipment, including computers, monitors, and printers. Marinco’s outstanding, shock-absorbing design is much less vulnerable to shattering or cracking when abused. Unlike all other IEC re-wireable connectors, which have difficult-to-use ‘binding screws,’ Marinco’s IEC connectors use exclusive Perma-Lock™ terminals which have collar-lug overleaves that “lock up” as the contact tangs tighten down on the wires, virtually eliminating the need to ever retighten the terminals. In addition, Marinco is the only manufacturer with long, deep ‘funnel’ wire pockets to easily guide the insertion of wires. The end result is faster assembly times and more durable terminations. Certified for make or break under load. Rear housing is rounded so it won’t get caught on stairs, equipment, etc. Dust seal keeps contaminants out of wiring chambers.

MARINCO CORD GRIP Powerful mechanical clamp is located inside the housing resulting in a neat, compact design. The clamp traps the cord against the rear of the housing for a superior cord grip, preventing strain on terminals. Internal cord clamp accommodates the widest range of cord sizes and shapes.

Boss diameter is 1.56" for 20 and 30 amp devices. All brass mounting strap and grounding system provides low resistance ground path and superior corrosion resistance. Terminal combo head screws are clearly marked in accordance with the National Electrical Code. U.L. Listed and C.S.A. Certified for make or break under load.

MARINCO ONE PIECE ALL BRASS CONTACT Sturdy one piece design eliminates the rivet found in conventional contacts. No rivet means less chance for resistance and heat rise. The sturdy design provides greater contact pressure over the life of the device, and is found in all 20 and 30 Amp receptacles.

MARINCO CLAMP TERMINAL The clamp is barbed to hold the conductor in place and cut oxide build-up. The entire terminal is securely held in place by the body of the device.

MARINCO TERMINALS The clear terminal cover allows visual inspection of the terminal area. Large terminals with solid brass clamps bundle the wires for a neat, secure connection. Terminals are clearly marked in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

MARINCO EXCLUSIVE SINGLE PIECE CONTACT Longer beam provides more contact pressure. One piece design eliminates the rivet found on many NEMA locking devices. All of the above features provide for a lower resistance connection and reduce the chance of heat rise that damages devices.

20 & 30 AMP FLANGED INLETS AND OUTLETS Flanged Inlets and Outlets for Panel Mounting Marinco flanged inlets and outlets employ the same design features as the plugs and connectors. They are mounted in a flanged nylon housing that allows mounting in a panel without access from the rear. Marinco eliminates assembly screws from the front of inlets and outlets, creating a cleaner design.

Several design features allow for fast installation, including wire entrance holes that are close together for easy insertion of wire. New connection system allows for 10 times faster swap-out of printed circuit boards compared to “hard-wired” terminal block connectors. The new Marinco® 603 Pluggable Connection System is the first 60-amp power interconnect to replace traditional terminal blocks, which require time-consuming wire preparation, including wire stripping and crimping by a certified electrician. The interconnect system is a drop-in replacement for terminal block connections, and it fulfills Bellcore’s 60-amp limit for power conducted by single cable to a switch. Using the 603 system, technicians can replace PCB power boards in about 3 minutes, compared to up to 30 minutes for an electrician rewiring a traditional terminal block. The 603RAH is the Right-Angle Header component that mounts directly onto the PCB, using the same footprint as a standard terminal block. The Header is also available in a Straight-Mount configuration, the 603STH. Each Header has three, industrystandard .550 centerline-spaced pins that

interconnect with the female 603RAC Right-Angle Connector component. The 3-wire Connector accepts up to 6-gauge wire and has two sets of terminal entries: by removing two holding screws, the Connector’s cover can be detached, allowing the installer to insert the three wires into either the top or the bottom side of the Connector, depending upon the end-user’s preference and space considerations. The Connector itself can only mate with the Header’s pins in one orientation, making it impossible for technicians to plug it in the “wrong way.” The heart of the system is the patented Radsok® Hyperbolic Cylinder. As a male pin is inserted in the gun barrel-like cylinder, the cylinder’s grid deflects, imparting high normal forces. The hyperbolic grid design ensures minimal voltage loss and joule heating, at the same time making it very easy to insert the pins into the Connector (low-insertion force). The cylinders are very rugged, allowing for repeated insertions and off-axis insertions.

WARRANTY

LIMITED WARRANTY A. Warranty: MARINCO warrants that at the time of shipment, the products manufactured by MARINCO and sold hereunder shall be in conformity with applicable written specifications and descriptions referred to or set forth herein, free from defects in material and workmanship, merchantable, and suitable for a particular purpose, provided such is implied by state law under the circumstances of this sale. B. Warranty Adjustment: 1. MARINCO agrees to repair or furnish a replacement for, but not remove or install, any product or component thereof which, within five (5) years from the date of shipment by MARINCO shall, upon test and examination by MARINCO, prove defective within the above warranty. 2. Buyer shall notify MARINCO of any defect within this warranty no later than thirty (30) days after a defect is discovered. 3. No product shall be accepted for return or replacement without the written authorization of MARINCO. Upon such authorization, and in accordance with instructions from MARINCO, the product will be returned to MARINCO, shipping charges prepaid by buyer. Product returned to MARINCO will be addressed as follows:

FIVE (5) YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ON ALL MARINCO PRODUCTS

All MARINCO products are covered by the following limited warranty: if, within five (5) years from date of purchase, this MARINCO product fails to function because of defects in materials or workmanship, MARINCO will, at its option, repair or replace the product without charge provided the owner has proof of purchase. This limited warranty does not cover damage to the product caused by accident, misuse, use on voltage other than marked on the product, neglect, or abuse, including altering construction or damage in transit. The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties either written, oral or implied (including any warranty or merchantability or fitness for purpose.)

Repair or replacement made under this warranty will be shipped prepaid. C. Exclusions from Warranty: 1. This warranty is limited solely to the above and applies only for the period set forth. 2. MARINCO will not be liable for any loss, damage, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, whether based upon warranty contract, or negligence, and arising in connection with the sale, use or repair of the products. 3. MARINCO’s maximum liability shall not, in any case, exceed the contract price for the products claimed to be defective or unsuitable. 4. This warranty does not extend to any product manufactured by MARINCO which has been subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or use in violation of instructions furnished by MARINCO. 5. This warranty does not extend to or apply to any unit which has been repaired or altered at any place other than at MARINCO’s factory, or by persons not expressly approved by MARINCO, nor to any unit from which the identification has been removed or altered. 6. Components or products manufactured by any supplier other than MARINCO shall bear only that warranty made by the manufacturer of that product.
