Andy, We are on a US tour and I am short handed. I am catching up tonight on emails. Here is our most up to date information, I am in the process of updating the lighting plot.. I am adding my pre advance email just in case you did not receive it already. If you did, I apologize for the repetition. We are traveling with all of our backline for a €1200 buyout from all promoters. We do not have our wireless or in ears.
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Rebekah Foster, Mr. Miller's tour & production coordinator. Along with my team, we will be handling all aspects of the upcoming performance. Please communicate with us regarding all aspects of this gig. We will work with you to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that you are well prepared for a Marcus Miller performance. I have included a few highlights in this email. These items are absolutely necessary for our performance and spelled out in the rider. Production Advance ** Attached you will find all the up to date technical information for Marcus Miller as well as a pre-advance sheet in this email. Please fill out as much information as possible and return it to us. Do not leave any blanks other than when full information is attached. This will be very helpful in beginning the advance process. ** We need all of the contact information for your production managers, venue managers, hospitality & transportation coordinators, department heads and production vendors. This should include email addresses, Skype addresses, land lines, fax lines and mobile phone numbers. ** We will need all venue, sound, lighting, catering, transportation and hotel information from you as soon as possible. This should include all specs, diagrams, stage plots, lighting plots, etc. Any special information relative to your venue should also be relayed to us. ** We will need a minimum of 4-6 stage hands at each venue for load in, load out and setup. ** We will be carrying all of our backline. This will include the 110V transformers. There will be a €1200 buyout per performance day for our backline. Please have this cash ready at load in or you may wire it prior to our arrival. ** We MAY need a piano tuner for sound check and again prior to the show. ** Please look at our wireless microphone requirement closely. We must have the exact wireless mics that are specified because we carry our own for the bass clarinet. They have a 4 pin adaptor for Shure microphones. This is extremely important as this is Marcus’ instrument. If there are changes, you will be alerted immediately. Hotels ** All hotels must be 4-5 star with no construction occurring during our stay. ** It is IMPERATIVE that all hotels have high speed internet access. ** You will be responsible for making sure each room has complimentary internet at the hotel. ** I am aware that some of your regions do not yet have high speed available, but if it is available this is where the group needs to stay. Mr. Miller often has to send large music files and it is of the utmost importance that he has access. ** I have attached a room information sheet and a rooming list for you. ** We will have 2 bus drivers who will need a €70 buyout per night instead of the hotel. Please have this cash ready upon arrival to give to me. Ground Transportation We will be traveling by tour bus in and out of your city. We will, however, need clean comfortable ground transportation to and from the venue & hotel for the crew and the band. We will need secure parking for our tour bus and our backline van at the venue and hotel. We will need 380V/32 amp power to tie the bus into. We will have the cables. There must always be: ** 2 (two) 6-8 passenger luxury vans (Mercedes Viano or similar) for band and crew ** 1 (one) late model luxury sedan for Mr. Miller ** 1 (one) runner with a vehicle in good working condition at the venue If we arrive on the day of show, the crew will go directly to the venue, the band & Mr. Miller will go to the hotel. All drivers must be English speaking with a good general knowledge of the area. We will need all ground transportation details: car company name and phone numbers, names and mobile numbers for ALL drivers, each car type confirmed, and confirmation numbers for all cars booked (if applicable). We will need all distances as indicated on the advance sheet for our entire stay, (airport – hotel, hotel – venue for performance, load in, sound checks, etc).
Travel, Visas, Work Permits If needed, the visa and work permit process must start immediately. We need all necessary documents from you that are needed for the processing of our visas. This will be coordinated by Shenae Branch. All passport copies will be sent to you. The travelers are holders of US, French & British passports. Line Up The line up is as follows: Marcus Miller - Bass, Bass clarinet Lee Hogans - Trumpet Alex Han - Saxophone Kris Bowers - Keyboards Adam Agati - Guitar Louis Cato - Drums Please feel free to add this to your advertising and programs. Press ** Please send any press requests through to us. ** Mr. Miller’s manager, Bibi Green, will handle all advance press requests. All requests while we are in your town will be handled by me. ** Bibi can be reached at
[email protected] , Tel: 215 283 286, Fax: 215 283 9532, Cell: 646 872 4742. ** Our policy for photographers is first 2 songs, no flash. For video, first 3 mins of first song. All still and video cameras must be turned off and removed after this time. When you communicate with us, please make sure to copy everyone on this email . This will insure that someone from our organization receives your message We are presently touring with other artists and want to make sure that there is no loss of communication. We want to be certain we address all of your questions, concerns and that your needs as well as ours are met so that everyone is prepared for this performance. Again, please fill out the advance sheet and return it to us. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. We will get it all worked out if you have any concerns. We are adept at working within budgets. Our aim is to make this a great day for everyone. Here are all of our contact numbers and email addresses: Rebekah Foster-
