The «Penta Project» is a multiple sculpture project. In different countries, Penta elements are created on the proposed sites, inserted in local environment. On each site, the same Penta pattern is followed, but the use of local materials and local expertise make the resulting sculpture always different. All Penta sculptures must fit together though. This is why each sculpture has hinges whose dimensions are precisely defined. Some day they would be joined together to form the «Penta Project» in its entirety. Since 30 years Marco Dessardo travels around the world as a space digger, looking in the cracks of reality for the hidden garden of all wanderings. Italian with Mittel-European roots, born in Brussels, based first in Spain, now in Paris where he teaches architecture, he is inserting his works in improbable places as guest of biennales or residences. Nomad sculptor, he is building shelters in the desert. His settlements not only respond to the specificity of each site but also to the calls surging from a dialog with its dwellers, while marking the steps of expatriation.
