Manon Bottagisi Monday 12th :

The suitcases packed, all the pupils met at 1.30 pm in front of the school. Everybody was ready to leave for a week of visits through England. We came by car to the airport of Geneva, in the international zone. First problem, some pupils were in the french zone, we had to cross the passport control to find them. Then, we checked in but François had to quickly find a doctor's prescription because of his cast if he wanted to come with us. Fortunately, it arrived in time and we were able to go in the departure area. After some minutes of waiting, we embarked aboard an EasyJet plane, until Liverpool.

After the take off, the flight and the landing, which was very exciting, we got back our luggage and we set into the bus to Chester. Once over there, we met our families where we were going to spend the week. I was with Astrid and Mathilde and our home was very nice. We ate a pizza with chips and salad and after that we had our shower. The family was very kind, there were two young children; a girl about 8 years old and a boy about 5 years old. There was a nice garden and many rooms, there was a beautiful decoration too. At about 11 pm, we felt tired and we slept... Good night !

Tuesday 12th : Astrid, Mathilde and I had a lot of difficulties to wake up in the morning. Moreover, we didn't eat a lot for breakfast, because of the special English food. Our host drove us to the bus stop where I saw my best-friend again. Direction of Ironbridge to visit the Enginuity museum which was really interesting and varied. The subject was the energies, and each of us was able to venture on one of the various machines. This museum was my favourite, I have learned a lot there !

Then, we went to the center of Ironbridge to eat in a park, just next to the beautiful bridge and the river, it was a first very nice pic-nic ! Fortunately, we were able to buy an ice-cream to fill the space in our stomach before leaving to the next visit. After that, we went in bus to the Blist Hill victorian town, an attractive small village reconstituted where we could relax under the sun of England ! We were able to see some animals of the farm and the various professions of this period.

We came back in our families at 6:30 pm and we ate sausages with potatoes and pasta. We listened to music and after chatting for a long time, we fell asleep at 10:30 pm.

Wednesday 13th : After our hard wake up, we had breakfast. We ate sandwich bread, chocolate flavoured cereal and very special orange juice; it tasted like medicine !

Then, we walked to the bus stop and we went by bus to Wales, next to the sea. The trip was just a bit long but it was the occasion for me to sleep a moment ! When we arrived there we could admire the beautiful landscape, with nice white houses. We walked to the great Orme, a hill above the sea. We had a very amusing surprise once at the top ; we did toboggan and everybody laughed a lot, moreover we could see the teachers who weren't very fast ! After this nice moment, we lyed on the grass with Caroline and Romain to eat our lunch. It was a good time for me because I had a rest under the sun with my friends. After that, we came back to the bus to go to the Caernarfon Castle, the visit was quite interesting and the castle was wonderful.

On the way back, we did a break at Conwy to shop and bought an ice-cream. Finally, we came back to Chester and the family, we had a shower and we ate pasta with tomatoe sauce too. Then we filled our diary and we slept.

Thursday 15th : We had the same breakfast as the previous days and after we took the bus until the big city of York. It lasted two hours but we weren't disappointed when we arrived there. It's a very pleasant town, with a big history. We did a visit of two hours, we walked on the defense walls, we saw one of the biggest cathedrals of England, we searched differents things in the oldest streets and we did role-playing to illustrate past-facts.

Then we were very hungry so we ate on a place in the middle of the town. We had time for shopping and we tasted «scones» from Mr. Fournier, it looked like muffins with grape inside. With Marie-Ca, we took a very good cappuccino too. Then we met the others next to the cathedral to go to the railway museum. This museum was a bit boring at the beginning, but I found it very nice then. Unfortunately, it was time to come back to Chester when it interested me the most. We laughed a lot in the bus on the way back, we took lots of photos and we listened to good music.

Then we came back at the house, we spoke a little with the children and we ate nuggets, potatoes and pasta. We slept very quickly because we were tired and we wanted to be in shape for the day in Liverpool !

Friday 16th : This day was my favourite, maybe because of the visit of the Beatles museum, so I was a bit excited. Unfortunately the weather was a bit worse. First, we visited the maritime museum and the slavery museum. We started by the floor of maritime, there were models of many famous boats.

I preferred the room dedicated to the Titanic, there was a very interesting movie about it. The second floor was dedicated to the celebrities who marked the history of England and the third floor was about slavery. I found very well made rooms, there was a wall too with beautiful sentences about this period, against slavery. Then, the teachers decided to do a game ; my class and me had a quiz and we had to be faster than the other class to fill it. It was nice but I think we didn't have enough time in this floor.

Then we ate next to the river and we walked to the center of Liverpool to shop. There were lots of things to see but it was the time to go to visit the Beatles museum. We were a bit disappointed because we couldn't take photos in this museum.

It was very complete and interesting. The rooms where there were a tribute to John Lennon with the song «Imagine» was my favourite. I bought two posters about the Beatles and a purse.

Unfortunately, it was time to come back to Chester but the day wasn't finished ! We ate all together and we did a Ghost Tour in the town of Chester, not very scary but pleasant ! We came back home and we slept.

Saturday 17th : It was a very animated day, and even if it's hard to believe, we would stay some more days there ! First, we said «Goodbye» to our nice family and we offered them honey and swiss chocolate. Then we took the bus to a shop center in Liverpool. It was the last time we bought something in England ! We returned to the bus when Milena had an accident ; she was run over her foot by a car when she crossed the car park. It was the panic in the bus ! So Mr Fournier had to stay with Milena to go to a hospital. We went to the airport and we had to be fast because we lost lots of time with Milena's accident. We queued to check in when Mrs Labourier and Mrs Pflimlin realised that we hadn't our identity cards ! It was the rush to get back them. Forunately, we had our cards just in time, there was only one minute left ! So we checked in and we run in the all airport to join de plane. Phew, we were finally quiet. Then we arrived in Geneva, we got back our luggages and we came back to our house.
