Life is violent. Music is not only entertaining. Jabberwock hammers this feeling in an intense electrocrash : mutant female voice driven by powerful and obsessive beats along with new wave bass lines, hazy keyboards and nihilist guitars draw an anxious picture of our daily life. Jabberwock’s influences go from indie rock to electro-industrial references. It feeds itself in the bloodline of bands such as My Bloody Valentine, NIN, Ministry, Young Gods, Alec Empire & Jesus and Mary Chain. Jabberwock loves what is loud, strange or both at the same time, and its lyrics deal with a spooky phenomenon called : "my f****** everyday life". All band members have played in previous bands and have experienced around a hundred gigs each. While performing live, Jabberwock manages in fusing the emotion of rock with the abstraction of electronics. After three years of experiments, genetic mutations and numerous gigs, the concept is mature and has reached its actual coherence. The band releases its first album on Panic Distortion label. Panic Distortion is the natural child of Manic Depression Records specializing in Electronic types of music. The strange mix of nerve wrecking music and ironic lyrics is finally available on a large scale ... and shouldn’t leave you alone before long.

jabberwock 10 track CD + 5 remixes Between furious metal-industrial and atmosphere loaded noisy-electronica, Jabberwock’s first release shines a touchable intensity from the beginning to the end. The band proves itself able to produce both energy driven tunes that bang you in the face and create true surreal atmospheres that lead you near the edge. Lena’s Voice evolves according to the songs : explosive in “bombzilla”, deadly smooth in “off”, disembodied in “tense” or opera like with a military feel in “comfort” ... Beats go far beyond the binary motion to deliver various levels of perception allowing to grasp different fields of kinetics while retaining primary energy. Leveraging on their various influences, Sverre, Xavier and Corrado create a complex musical landscape : knife cutting guitars on “boxed” and “now”, cold wave razor sharp bass lines on “happy” and “off”, polymorphic keyboards on “tense” and distorted magma on “devotion” make the mix an explosive set of tonal rifts. The witty musical message is then strengthened by a set of ironic lyrics that draw ironic and disabused paint marks on the surrounding consumer’s world. From unrestrained consumerism –now, now, now- to marketing manipulation –boxed– through blind veneration –devotion– every single detail is scanned using x-rays. Jabberwock is a restless multi-faced monster. It traps the listener within its world. As opposed to preformatted easy listening and disposable products, Jabberwock requires several read throughs to reveal its true nature. Punish Yourself, Collapse, Obe & Wytlyt have decided to join the happy wreckage. Thanks to their remixes, a new surprising perspective spreads over Jabberwock’s music and reveals other corners of its real power. ... smile, you are monitored ...
