KiSS DP-500 DivX® Compatible DVD Player with Ethernet Connection The DP-500 is based on the ground breaking DP-450 with its DivX®, XviD, Mpeg 4, MP3, Ogg Vorbis reading capabilities. An Ethernet 10/100 port has been added to the player along with a Sigma Designs EM8550 progressive DVD decoder chip which enable any user with a Broadband Internet Connection to stream DVD quality movies directly from a Computer. To enhance the user’s experience and to take the best out of this connection, the DP-500 ships with the KiSS PC-Link software which makes possible to read any of the supported file format straight from your PC to your DVD player and your TV via a straight forward and user-friendly interface. To change your DP-500 experience from exceptional to unforgetable, KiSS introduces WebRadio. Accessing the WebRadio menu on your Player will provide you with a high number of radio stations, over 5000, that can be streamed from the internet to your DVD player and your TV. To make this session comfortable and according to your own taste, once registered, WebRadio will allow you to choose, customize, add as many radio station as you wish. The KiSS DP-500 also comes complete with the standard CD/MP3, Ogg Vorbis, DivX®, XviD, CD-RW and DVD+-RW playback.

The firmware of the player keeps updated with the latest research and development and KiSS is able to release a firmware update on a regular basis. KiSS DVD players play all DivX format. DivX® 3.11, DivX® 4 and DivX® 5. What does this mean for you? It means that now, for the first time, you can download full-screen, full-motion videos from the Internet that actually look and sound like what you get from your television or DVD player. With DivX® compression, you can download and watch high-quality video on your TV.

5 Step Quick Setup

The big new feature with KiSS DP-500 is the ethernet connection found on its back. The KiSS Player can be connected through different ways to allow all its features and services to run. It can be either connected directly to the internet via a broadband connection or through a network (LAN) with a PC holding contents that can be read using KiSS PC-LInk.

To tackle long and too technical setup problem, KiSS introduces a Five Step Quick Setup. As soon as the player is plugged-in for the first time, a clear and user friendly graphic interface asks the user to select its language, video connection, screen size, audio connection and enter its IP address

KiSS PC-Link

Thanks to its ethernet connection, the DP-500 is the only player on the market to provide users with a direct connection to the Internet. This internet connection enables the KiSS DP-500 to play internet radio. Just select this feature on the Player, and you will have access to around 5000 radio stations that can be streamed and played on the DP-500.

KiSS PC-Link is a software that enables the KiSS DP-500 user to play music, see pictures and view movies from a PC to the DivX compatible DVD player thanks to the ethernet connection found on the back of the player. KiSS PC-Link is a user-friendly software to install on a PC running at least Windows 98, it easy to select any media files on a PC’s hard disk.
