FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Empire Renewable Energy Announces Partnership with The Green Schoolhouse Series

Phoenix, Arizona, 9/13/11 – Empire Renewable Energy, a leading provider of commercial and residential solar solutions, announced today it will supply a solar rooftop system to the first project in The Green Schoolhouse Series, an initiative by leading partner Brighten a Life, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, in which schoolhouses are gifted to disadvantaged public schools. As a building partner, Empire Renewable Energy will provide its products for a LEED®-Platinum designed Green Schoolhouse slated for construction at Roadrunner Elementary School in Phoenix, AZ later this year. The Safarithemed Green Schoolhouse will replace the need for outdated portable classrooms and provide a center for after-school programs and community use. The Green Schoolhouses are built through a collaboration of building-product partners, national and local corporations, school districts and volunteers. The Phoenix Safari Schoolhouse is the first in a series of schools to be built across America. As a partner with The Green Schoolhouse Series, Empire Renewable Energy joins a list of prestigious, nationally recognized organizations that are supporting the group’s mission. “The Green Schoolhouses use donated, top-of-the-line, sustainable products and state-of-the-art technologies like Empire Renewable Energy’s solar rooftop system,” explained Marshall G. Zotara, Co-founder and Senior Managing Partner of CAUSE AND EFFECT Evolutions. “Not only will the students benefit from learning in a healthier classroom setting, the donations will sustain the building for many years to come.” For 60 years, Empire has consistently set the industry standard as a provider of distributed power generation systems to southwestern hospitals, municipalities, telecommunications, military, educational institutions, commercial buildings and high-tech manufacturers. “Power is our business: providing solar energy solutions is a natural extension of who we are,” said Brett Burns, General Manager. “For years we have helped customers use new, proven technologies to harness other sources of clean, renewable energy. Biogas, landfill gas and wastewater technologies have been implemented for select agriculture and industrial applications.” Empire Renewable Energy is a leader in the commercial and residential solar energy industry and is helping to sustain healthier landscapes—and a healthier planet—through innovative product development. In addition, Empire has powered its corporate headquarters with domestic natural gas for more than 40 years and is expanding the use of alternative energy sources in other facilities wherever possible.
