Pawprint 1.95x2.01 inches; 2,897 stitches 1 thread changes; 1 colors Color Changes 1. Grey Method: I do recommend using same color needle and bobbin thread for your final satin outline. Also, if you appliqué onto stretch fabric (t shirt, for example) It is essential to use a good (not too light) weight tear away stabilizer. Simply push a sheet under your hoop. 1) Thread the same color you plan to do your satin border in and stitch color 1.

2) Cut a piece of appliqué fabric a bit bigger than the just stitched placement line. Place over placement line, hold in place with your hands and stitch color 2 (don’t physically change color – this is your tacking line

3) Remove hoop from Machine and cut away all excess fabric.

4) Return hoop and finish design. If you want to stitch the Casual Cat Lettering design stitch color one which forms the placement line for the fillings of the 3 “A” Cut 3 small pieces of fabric and place over each triangle (fix with a little 505). Stitch color 2.

Remove hoop and trim away all excess fabric.

Return hoop and finish design.

You can easily turn these designs into a soft toy or mascot for a cat lover. Follow above steps – but instead of hooping your garment or article you want to appliqué onto hoop 2 layers of WSS (drum tight). Progress as described above. When completed rinse both, back and front part of the cat in warm water to remove the starch. Dry flat. Choose sewing thread matching the color you stitched the final satin borders in. Lay back and front - wrong sides together – and slip stitch together about 3/4. Now you can begin to stuff the cat – ears and tail first - . I used a chop stick – works well. Finish by closing the last bit and there you have a loveable non-toxic toy not only for a child!

I would, BTW, not sew the cats together by machine. I tried one, but find it is worth to invest into some time and stitch them by hand – that way you have much better control over edges and curves.

Happy stitching! Hugs from Ursula / Cape Town / South Africa [email protected]
