Greetings, we hope you enjoy reading our new catalogue. 2008 was always going to be a testing year for the pyrotechnics industry what with the reclassification of many fireworks, combined with the huge price rises coming out of China. On top of this we have the great misfortune of the Olympic Games being held in China in 2008 which has resulted in restrictions of the manufacturing, transportation and shipping of explosives. At the time of writing the stress levels are moving into a new dimension. On a more positive note some of the new fireworks are also moving into a new dimension. In order to comply with new storage regulations all new consumer fireworks (1.4G) are now further limited to the amount of flash powder in them. Initially we were very worried that this would take the “bang” out of fireworks but with new technology in the manufacturing process we are pleased to inform you that this is not the case, in fact it has resulted in crisper and cleaner effects and some stunning colours. In fact we were so impressed by the new effects that our clever Oriental cousins have created we have gone totally mad and introduced a huge new range of fireworks including some whapping sized pieces that wouldn’t look out of place in the largest of professional displays. Now on to rockets.We have mentioned for some time that large rockets are likely to disappear this year but we have found that we can get around this problem by way of packing changes.To explain further, any rocket over 20g in explosive weight has been reclassified making them impractical to store and deliver (our smallest rockets in 2007 were 20g and our largest were 190g!). So for this year rather than sell a large rocket full of nothing but Chinese air we have some new large rockets just as powerful as before but with a metal mesh around the packing carton enabling them to be stored and shipped as before.To conclude, we are happy to inform you that the quality, colours and sound of our fireworks are not compromised. What do the different firework categories mean?

Sparklers

It is important to follow these guidelines.

Sparklers, like other fireworks, must be used with care. They can get six times as hot as a pan of cooking oil. It makes sense to keep sparklers in safe hands. • Unsuitable for children under five • Light one at a time • Hold at arm’s length • Wear gloves when holding sparklers • Put used sparklers hot end down into a bucket of sand or water

but your display must be finished by 11PM. Exceptions are: November 5th (midnight), New Year's Eve (1AM), Chinese New Year

We specialise in mail order and can deliver direct to you door throughout The British MAINLAND: Mail order delivery charges, terms and conditions: • All orders are subject to a £20 delivery charge. The cost of moving explosives is prohibitive, not only because of the need of specialised transport but also because of specialised cartons. Even the very smallest of orders will cost us a MINIMUM of £30 to deliver so please accept our apologies but understand that the delivery charge is merely a contribution. Even some medium sized orders were costing up to £100 to deliver last season. • Deliveries are between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Orders are usually delivered by carrier and they prefer to deliver to a business or work address. Home deliveries are

possible but fireworks will not be left without a signature and every failed attempt to deliver will be subject to a £20 surcharge. • Non November orders: Usually despatched within five working days • An express service is available; please contact us for latest rates. • Guy Fawkes orders. Due to the intense pressure over the Guy Fawkes season we need to start shipping orders from 1st October. • Last orders for November 2nd delivery. Orders for delivery on or before 3rd November must be made by October 24th. • Saturday deliveries are available in most areas at a £30 surcharge. • Scottish Highlands may be subject to a surcharge from our courier, please enquire for your rate. • Please check the contents of the delivery at your earliest opportunity. Only sign for the amount of packages you receive! Shortages must be made in writing within three working days. • Substitutes. We reserve the right to substitute any out of stock items; any items that are substituted will be replaced by a product of equal value or higher!
