Books burn at 451 degrees Fahrenheit… Books are banned and burnt; robot dogs prowl the streets sniffing out those who read illegally; firemen answer the call, racing through the streets to burn book and reader alike. Pill -popping junk food -guzzling TV- worshipping Mildred cannot satisfy her fireman husband, Guy; instead he seeks out the forbidden and begins a journey that will end in rebellion, violence and a type of liberation.

This unique production arrives in Britain after two hugely successful tours of continental Europe. FAHRENHEIT 451 has been called the greatest science fiction story ever told. Like all good sci-fi, it speaks about now – a world obsessed with media rather than message, where trash culture and junk materialism rule; where conformity is prized above freedom and war is used as an excuse to undermine our liberty.

Yet FAHRENHEIT 451 is no gloomy warning but a deeply satisfying emotional thriller. Bradbury creates characters we care about in a world that is eerily moving as well as terrifying. The production is from TNT music Theatre dubbed “the world’s most popular touring theatre” (China National TV) – who this season perform a repertoire of eight productions in over thirty countries on three continents. Their FAHRENHEIT 451 is a fast moving physical theatre piece that blends startling imagery with fast moving action, tragedy and comedy and features a fully integrated score by composer Paul Flush. These performances offer a rare opportunity to see the company in London.

“The ensemble, directed by Paul Stebbings, performs passionately and with powerful physical and visual control. The dramatization of Bradbury’s novel doesn’t lose the audience’s attention for a second. It’s a successful adaptation and a parable that places intellectual freedom above individual safety. Modern theatre that can hardly be livelier and more stirring’. Bergstädter Anzeiger, Bonn
