EVREUX CATHEDRAL CREATION OF A COMPOSITION INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR VOICES AND ORGAN A magnificent new organ by french organ builder Pascal Quoirin has recently be completed in Evreux cathedral. The futuristic design of the organ case intends this instrument for musical creation. In this cathedral took place, at the end of XVIth century, the “Puy de Musique” created by the composer Guillaume de Costeley, very attractive composition competition for the best musicians at this period. The “Amis de l’orgue de la cathédrale d’Evreux » (AM.OR.C.E.) organize each year an “Organ and sacred music festival” about this exceptional instrument. They have wished to restore this tradition by creating a new composition competition, as attractive for XXIst century musicians.

This competition will be called “Prix Guillaume Costeley”.
