Dear partners,

May 10, 2017

It has been a joy for me these last months to read testimonies from women who were at our conference ''Avec Z'Elles'' in November and who are using things they learned. We have a website where they can share their experiences and encourage one another. Our main goal was that God would inspire the women to use their gifts and shine where they are for Him. Excerpts:

Adeline: “After the conference in November, with a neighbor friend, we put into practice our plan to invite our neighbors. We had moved onto this street one year apart, then early January we invited seven neighbors for the King's Cake, people to whom we just say Hi when we pass in the street. Everyone came! We had a very pleasant time, more than two hours together, and the neighbors were delighted with this initiative. Let's pray that we can now move on to deeper conversations when we see them next!!”

Claire: “Hello, butterflies! I was encouraged by a sister in my church in Lyon, Laurence, to organize my first Christmas tea December 12, to which I invited two 80-year old neighbors with whom I already have a good friendship. Laurence will be present (since He sends us by twos!) and we plan to ask them what Christmas means for them and how they celebrate. Please support us in prayer… and may I continue on this dynamic with my numerous neighbors and friends!!!! Thank you!”

Florence: “Thanks to the Soularium (a set of photos), I spent a wonderful time with the women of my church at Christmas. This is an excellent tool to better understand one another, and guide us toward the Word of God. This day together was a joy and I had much joy preparing it! Thank you for all the good ideas shared during our weekend in Dijon. I feel great knowing where my place is and it really strengthened my faith.”

Evelyne: “For three days of heavy fog and cold, visitors passed my stand presenting pastels and paintings without stopping much [at the Christmas market]. However, I had some good discussions about faith with those working the neighboring stands, thanks to three small paintings which illustrate Faith, Hope and Love. Just before closing up the last night, a young woman came and asked me the meaning of these three paintings. Two of them pleased her and she bought them to decorate her office and thus be able to witness to her patients as the opportunity arises! Glory to God! This encouraged me to continue to witness for God through my painting!”

Sarah: “Hello! I just joined this site after our super weekend in Dijon. Who has ever organized a Spa Afternoon? I have this plan for February… to invite a mix of women from the church and other friends to spend an afternoon with massage, facials, a chocolate fountain, and showing some clips from the film Magdalena. It seems very ambitious to me… What do you think? Advice?”

Valérie: “Great! It is wonderful to hear news following the conference. Personally, I retained among other things the idea that the butterfly spends 75% of its time resting in the sun which allows it to gain strength. I have been putting this into practice and getting my priorities in place. One of them was to visit elderly women in my neighborhood, which I have done. Thank you again for this time spent together in Dijon.”

Thank you for your prayers for the 500 Years of the Reform exhibit. The website is now open and churches have started ordering the exhibit. Yannick presented it at the regional meetings of the Protestant Federation of France and the National Evangelical Council of France, where many pastors were interested. In Rennes, we have also booked Jean-Yves Carluer, specialist on Protestantism in Brittany, for a conference at the same time as the simultaneous open houses using the exhibit in seven churches next October.

Prayer requests: •

for the final touches on the text and graphics of the Reform exhibit

that the information on the exhibit would be widely spread in France and many would use it

for unity of churches to work together on this project

for creative ideas on how to use it in each different context

for good reception by city officials as some churches will either partner with or request libraries, universities or other public spaces

in Rennes, that doors would open for us to also present it on campus

for the committee working on a quiz for kids, and that lots of school groups would plan to visit the exhibit

for the women who attended Avec Z'Elles, that they would continue to be motivated to share their faith in creative ways around them

We also ask you to pray for our upcoming furlough in the Dallas area mid-July through August. It will be the first furlough without my mom. We are very grateful for my sister Kelly and her husband Dan who welcome us so graciously in their home in Frisco which is also near my dad who is in assisted living. Please pray for the $600 in monthly support we need and for our schedule as we also clean out our parents' house and get it on the market. We hope to see as many of you as possible and will write about dates in our next letter. Thank you for holding us up in prayer for our ministry and family. With you to touch those in France,
