BIOGRAPHY Daniel Racoceanu is Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). He has a Tenured Professor position at Sorbonne Université, Paris, France. HDR (2006), Ph.D. (1997) and M.Sc. (1993) of the University of Besançon, France, M.Eng (1992) of the University Politehnica Timisoara, Romania, Daniel’s professional career started by a Project Manager position at General Electric Energy Products – Europe. In 1999, he became Associate Professor at the University of Franche-Comté, France, in the area of dynamic pattern recognition, computer vision and industrial informatics (research fellow at FEMTO-ST Institute - UMR CNRS). Daniel’s areas of competency are Medical Image Analysis, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning. His on-going projects concern new protocols for cancer diagnosis and prognosis in integrative digital histopathology, as well as novel approaches for tumor heterogeneity and growing modeling. CNRS1 Research Director (2005-2014) and Director (2008-2014) of the International Joint Research Unit IPAL2 created in Singapore between CNRS, UPMC, NUS, I2R3, UJF4 and IMT5, Daniel Racoceanu significantly contributed to the success and the reputation of this long-run collaboration between France and Singapore. Principal Investigator of MICO (Cognitive Microscopy) ANR TecSan (French National Research Agency – Technologies for Healthcare) project (2010-2014) involving AGFA Healthcare, THALES, UPMC, UJF and TRIBVN, Daniel was involved in the FlexMIm FUI project (Consolidated Interministerial Fund of the French Ministry of Industry 2013-2016) (Orange Healthcare, Pertimm, Tribvn …) and the EIT Heath European project PAPHOS (2016-2017), dedicated to big data in healthcare (ATOS, Bull, …). Full Professor (adj.) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 2009 to 2015, Daniel Racoceanu was and still is involved in a series of four A*STAR projects in neural stem cells growing and differentiation and angiogenesis quantification in histology, in collaboration with I2R, BII6 and IMB7 Institutes. President of the European Society for Digital Integrative Pathology (ESDIP), I am member of MICCAI Board of Directors (Medical Image Computing & Computer Assisted Intervention).
