Dear Jiska Swarte, At E-art sup high school, a visual communication school (http://www.e-artsup.net/), I have completed my third year as a Computer Graphic Designer Student. During the past years, I have learnt on how to use Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash CS4, and code with Action Script 2, HTML and CSS. More importantly I have learnt how to develop my artistic talent by painting, drawing, taking pictures, making movies, creating and using fonts. Finally, I have combined technics and talent with graphic design to create and develop websites ( Both HTML and Flash ). I have developed on my own a certain curiosity for Ergonomy / User Experience,and after reading “Don’t make me think” from Steve Krug, I really believe that it will be the next step for the web design. During my past experiences, I have developed my technical knowledge with Lagardère Interactive, in particular on the Elle, Premiere and Public websites, where I designed newsletters, search engines, flash slide shows/players and finally the main pages of the Premiere portal. And I have developed my artistic talent during a competition at McCann Erikson where my team and I have won the budget for a private medical advertising campaign and another one for a state bid. Beyond my technical and artistic knowledge, I wanted to highlight my motivation and creativity for webdesign, my ability to work hard in a team, I have to confess : I am passionate. Because I wanted to work at international, I have discussed the matter with Benoît Drouillat ( my webdesign teacher ). We have selected 10 companies in Netherlands where it would be good for me to work as an internship. I have chosen the Agency because of the 7th beliefs that you have listed on your site. I really believe in particular into the 4Th and 5Th ones because this is where webdesigners should aim to. I will be more than happy to discuss it with you. Also, i have to say that I really believe into brainstorming about user’s behaviour, preventing them from navigation errors due to the bad design of the web. Mixing up well-made interface and beautiful graphics to make for users, a real experience. Being based in the Netherlands for 3 months (from July through September 2009) is not a problem for me. April 2009 : Workshop at Mccann Eriksson Paris agency in the creative team (concept). I was a leader of a team of 8 where my role was to brainstorm with the others and report our concepts and ideas. We won the contest over 3 teams and got the budget. August to September 2008 : Internship at Lagardère Active as a webdesigner. My role was to design new interfaces on websites, create ash banners or help with ash games. (using Photoshop, Flash CS3). I learn how to work within a real company and I was part of a team made of 2 webdesigners of wich I was, our leader was the artistic director of the Premiere portal. April to May 2008 : Part of a team who participated to the Microsoft ImagineCup international game designing contest as G.U.I. designer (using Photshop and Illustrator CS3). Won the second place in France. November to December 2007 : Creation of the electroosh.eu logo (using Illustrator CS3) and website (using Photshop, Flash and Dreamweaver CS3). July 2006 : Summer holydays at LA CLUSAZ (2 weeks long) as a group leader for kids.
