CHAT. LES FONTENELLES BERGERAC ROSÉ Bergerac has its own designation since 1936. The same grape varieties grow here as in the Bordeaux area, occasionally supplemented with some local grape varieties. The similarity with Bordeaux wines is therefore almost logical, although many Bergerac wines have slightly less finesse and depth than the big brother. However, there are Chateaux that can make a high quality product, that many Bordeaux wines can not beat and are often priced even more attractively. Such a Chateau is Fontenelles. Chateau Fontenelles is located in the center of the region of Perigord, on a magnificent plateau in the south west of Thenac. Wine has been cultivated here since 1827. The Rosé is a blend of about 65% Merlot, supplemented with both Cabernets. The vinification is at a low temperature to maintain as many flavours and freshness in the wine as possible. Beautiful full of pink colour. The bouquet consists of red fruit, including strawberries, raspberries and currants. Fruity, yet dry of taste. It is a very good accompaniment to fine or roasted meat and salads.
