On behalf of the citizens of Calgary and my City Council colleagues, I am thrilled to welcome you to Canada Day celebrations in our great city.
De la part des citoyens de Calgary et de mes collègues du Conseil de ville, je suis ravi de vous accueillir dans notre merveilleuse ville dans le cadre des célébrations de la fête du Canada.
The City of Calgary, in partnership with Canadian Heritage, is proud to mark this milestone in our nation – the 150th anniversary of Confederation – with the biggest and best Canada Day celebration Calgary has seen. Today, we have the opportunity to reflect on our rich history and look towards a bright future. These celebrations are about honouring our deep Indigenous roots; recognizing that our nation is made better because of our incredible diversity, and it is about looking towards the youth that will shape the Canada of the next 50 years. As we celebrate our great nation, I have been asking every Canadian to consider giving a gift of service to Canada – three gifts in fact. We are calling it 3 Things for Canada. Whether they are big or small things, together, we can create over 100 million acts of community building. Happy Canada Day! Sincerely,

As we celebrate Canada 150, it is a time for all Canadians to come together to appreciate the road we have travelled so far, and to share what makes our communities so dynamic. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to celebrate our rich history and heritage; our arts and culture; and the diversity that shapes our identity. The year 2017 will be one to remember. This is why our government is proud to support Canada Day in Calgary. These special celebrations are bringing together communities in every part of the country to enjoy festivities that highlight our inclusive and open society and showcase our country’s achievements. As Minister of Canadian Heritage, I would like to thank the team of dedicated organizers and volunteers for making these celebrations possible. Happy Canada Day!
Alors que nous célébrons Canada 150, c’est l’occasion idéale pour tous les Canadiens de se rassembler, de réfléchir sur le chemin parcouru jusqu’à maintenant et de discuter de ce qui rend nos collectivités si dynamiques. Experience a different culture while having your head wrapped in a turban – you can choose from red or white to continue your celebration of Canadian culture on our 150th birthday.

Come out and enjoy a free pancake breakfast and beverages from Tim Hortons while supplies last. There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides, live entertainment on the Stampede stage, a new natural play space, the opening of a 1967 time capsule and lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy.
15 RedBall Calgary Olympic Plaza 222 8th Ave. S.E. For one week only, an internationally travelled art piece is coming to Calgary. The RedBall Project is the world’s longest-running street art work. It has been to over 25 cities worldwide and it adopts each city as its canvas. The stunning scenery of Calgary is providing a backdrop for the piece in various locations over seven days, culminating at Olympic Plaza on July 1.
RedBall Calgary la Place olympique 222 8th Ave. S.E. Pour une semaine seulement, une oeuvre d’art parcourant le monde arrivera à Calgary. Le projet RedBall est le plus long projet d’art de rue au monde. Il a été dans plus de 25 villes et il adopte chaque ville comme toile de fond. Le paysage magnifique de Calgary fournira une toile de fond à la pièce d’art dans plusieurs endroits pendant sept jours, se terminant à la place olympique le 1er juillet.
