The Agilent flying lead cable set (see Figure 1) allows probing of individual lanes, regardless of where they are routed. This eliminates the need to have signals routed to one probing point.

Because Agilent’s PCI-Express flying lead cable set has the probe amplifier in the analysis probe, it allows us to keep the probe head size to a minimum. Other solutions require the amplifier to be an integral part of the probe head, causing keep out volume issues, as well as thermal concerns. See Figure 2.

Solder down tip resistor is compatible with both the flying lead set for the N4220B, as well as the 1130-series InfiniiMax probing for both physical and protocol layer testing.

Figure 3 shows the tip resistors with the N4220B flying lead cable set hovering above. Figure 4 shows the tip resistors with the socketed differential probe head for the 1130-series InfiniiMax oscilloscope probes hovering above.

Probe both a x1 and a x4 link from one flying lead set and one N4220B, simultaneously*. Low mass – decreases concerns around mechanical stress. No external power required. Socketable solution provides additional flexibility.
