Buffalo Presents USB-Powered Mini Ethernet Hub Just the thing to have around for a quick multi-player

The LSW-TX-3EP/CU Buffalo

Although most multiplayer games are now played online (in the form of MMOs), there are some cases when you just feel like playing some old shooter against your friends in a small-scale LAN party. Of course, setting a network might not exactly be easy for some, but if your LAN party includes just three people, then you can opt for Buffalo's recently released LSW-TX-3EP/CU mini-Ethernet hub that is powered via USB and can be easily carried around. Without a doubt, the high level of portability and versatility represent the main selling points this networking device has to offer. Hence, one won't have absolutely any problems carrying this thing around in the notebook bag, given the fact that it measures just around 77 x 24 x 46mm and weighs around 55 grams. Plus, it's available in both black and white versions, so you can easily choose the one that best suits your tastes. As mentioned right from the title, the new device from Buffalo is completely USB-powered, thus further pushing its level of versatility (although it also works with an AC adapter). Moreover, it packs three Ethernet ports, each of them being compliant with the 100BASE-TX IEEE802.3u conformity and 10BASE-T IEEE802.3 specifications and being thus able to enable data transfer rates of up to 100Mbps/10Mbps. The Ethernet hub provides a self-learning MAC address allocation system, which can easily retain up to 2,000 addresses. Moreover, it supports transmission distances of up to 100 meters, but I'm pretty sure that, if you use it for some LAN party, you won't really have any distance-related problems. The USB-Powered Mini Ethernet Hub is already available on the Japanese market and sells for somewhere in the vicinity of 25 US dollars, which is not at all a bad pricing, given this thing's level of portability and possible uses.
