Axon is Innovative Parachute Technologies' 9-cell, semi-elliptical main canopy. It's an all zero porosity (ZP) canopy with a slightly lower aspect ratio and Spectra 725 suspension lines (standard). The Axon's planform is what makes it different from all the rest. It is somewhat wider at the tail, which is designed to provide more control surface during turns and landing flare. This unique shaping along with its high lift airfoil provide more responsive turns and breaking power. The Axon's design allows it to be docile enough for the newer jumper while still providing the experienced jumper with an aggressive feel. Lower wing loadings provide more forgiveness, and easier landings, while higher wing loadings provide increased responsiveness and increased speeds. This gives the Axon a huge performance envelope; something for everyone! Axon’s smooth airfoil shape gives it a crisp, clean profile, which reduces its drag and increases its performance. And the substantial lift provided by the Axon’s airfoil shape gives the pilot the ability to slow down at will.
