Your speaking exam is worth 25% of the entire GCSE. You have to perform role-plays and take part in a conversation with the examining teacher. This booklet contains the type of questions you will be asked at Foundation Level in the conversation part of the Exam.
Some advice for preparing for the conversation:
• Try and prepare interesting answers – use opinions and different tenses • Always use whole sentences • Ask your teacher to check the accuracy of your answers • Learn your answers gradually • Learn the answers with the questions so you understand each question when it is asked • Tape your answers and listen to them • Practise with a friend/parent/sister etc • Attend extra conversation classes at lunchtimes where available • Keep revisiting the topics – Eventually you will be able to give good answers automatically.
