ANTI-VIBRATION MOUNT By Kenneth D. Penny, EAA 33176

BRACKET

Few builders know how to properly construct antivibration mounts for fastening cowlings and other items on their aircraft. The schematic drawing shows the simple assembly sequence of the parts. Tack weld the nut to the washer, cement the washer to the rubber cushion, and then cement the cushion to the bracket. ®

COMMUNITY . . . (Continued from page 27)

Those are the highlights individually. Collectively, there was a line-up of ten homebuilts and antiques, well protected by ropes from the eager

hands of children or the careless leaning on tender places by uninitiated adults. They were easy to see and discuss with the owner or an EAA member, yet out of danger

We got an unofficial "Best In Show", made many friends and look forward to next year. In summation, we made a very good impression on ourselves and the community with just fourteen planes,

and for the chapters with lots of projects in the works but not too many flying, this arrangement has much to recommend it. ®

from the crowds. The fact is money in the bank for our next fly-in. In a special display area were the four partially completed airplanes and the EAA booth staffed by members. EAA information and applications were provided by Headquarters which helped to make it seem very professional and organized.

In a field of several perfect examples of planes many of us dreamed of as youngsters, Doug Newhous's (EAA 28579) absolutely immaculate 1937 Ryan STA captured "Best Restored Antique." 2»

Bernie Canterbury rates a special thanks from all of us. His Stits Playboy Static Display, almost ready for precover inspection, with a freshjy overhauled Continental hanging on the mount, is exciting just to look at. Makes you want to go and help him finish it just to see it fly. Bernie's a craftsman and we were proud to show everyone who came just what "Experimental" on the outside meant on the inside.
