高強度(典型的には1013W/cm2以上)のレーザーパルスに照射され た原子や分子は、非摂動論的に非線形な応答を示す。 そのような高強度場現象の代表例は、超閾電離、トンネル電離、高 次高調波発生である。また、高次高調波は、極紫外から軟エックス 線領域の新しい超短パルス光源として応用され、アト(10-18)秒の時 間スケールで進行する原子分子内における電子ダイナミクスが明ら かになりつつある。 本講義では、レーザーの基礎に続いて、高強度場現象やアト秒パル ス発生について解説し、アト秒パルスの応用を紹介する。
