Crown Skis Ltd. is a start-up ski manufacturing company based in Vancouver dedicated to manufacturing a fully sustainable line of high performance free ride skis for people who identify themselves as skiers, first and foremost. The Crown Skis Beta Program 1.0 Beta Test: Noun.

A trial of a product in the final stages of its development, conducted by a party unconnected with its development.

be'ta-test' (bā'tə-těst') n. Beta 1.0 is a progressive test program designed to provide Crown’s engineers with real field-testing feedback, straight from the people whose input is most important to us: our future customers. We have been building prototypes for 2 seasons now, and are stoked about our design and build process, but we believe that your feedback will be instrumental in helping us bring our product line to market. Crown Skis Ltd. proposes to enlist you as field testers and give you the opportunity to purchase a pair of the first ever Crown skis at our material cost. You’ll do so with the understanding that this is a test program and that the performance and our construction good or bad is the nature of this program. The Beta Program 1.0 is, as defined above, a trial of Crown’s skis conducted by you … the party unconnected to the skis development. Your feedback will be incorporated into our designs moving forward. The Beta Program 1.0 will have a production run limited to 30 pairs of skis, deliverable by November 22, 2008. Orders over and above this quantity will go onto a waiting list and participants will be advised as to a delivery timeframe at that point.

Crown Skis Sustainability Rebate Program Part of Crown Skis commitment to sustainability is to recover the products that we manufacture and recycle them. Crown offers our customers a 15% rebate against future purchases by returning their used skis (regardless of condition) to the company. Participants in the Beta Program 1.0 qualify for this rebate offer, so you are also getting a discount on future purchases.

The Skis The Beta 1.0 model is an all-mountain, twin-tip fat ski designed for “advanced” riders. Our design combines a narrow tail shape for maneuverability and deep snow floatation, with a healthy amount of side cut for all-mountain versatility. Throw in a monster tip that’ll keep on top of powder even on those “oncein-a-season” super deep days, and you’ve got the perfect Canadian West Coast ski. From steep BC Interior trees to big open Whistler bowls, with a little Cypress groomers in between, we got you covered.
