25th European Stag meeting May 7/8th, 2005 in Engelberg The Triumph Stag Club Switzerland is exceptionally pleased to carry out the ESM in 2005. We have chosen the Central Switzerland with the summer and winter vacation resort Engelberg as a venue this year. Engelberg at 1050 m above sea level is surrounded from mountains above 3020 m (10,000 feet). We offer two kinds of accommodation: The 4* hotel Ramada Treff in the center of Engelberg or a favorable pension with simple accommodation removes approximately in 10 walking minutes from the Ramada (blanket and pillow available). On Saturday the meeting starts at 09:30 in Engelberg and ends in Lucerne on Sunday afternoon. After the opening ceremony we move to Hergiswil, to visit the glass-blowing factory and have a little lunch. On a restored 99 years-old paddle-steamer, we enjoy a comfortable cruise on the Lake of Lucerne. Return in the early evening to Engelberg. The luncheon is in a nostalgic dining hall from the turn of the century in the neighboring house of the Ramada. On Sunday we drive with the Stag around the Lake of Lucerne to the Swiss Museum of Transport to Lucerne. This house has become the native home for many witnesses concerning traffic engineering (cars, tracks airplanes etc.) from past times. You have time to inspect the exhibits. After lunch the official farewell takes place. If you don't want to drive back home yet, you can take the ship, or walk to Lucerne and visit the historical town. For the days before and after the official meeting we offer you the following interesting activities: On Friday – Guided tour of the Benedictine monastery of 1120 of Engelberg and their cheese production, lunch in a typical mountain restaurant, short walk back to the hotel. Friday evening - Extra journey with the world premier Rotair, the first revolving aerial cable car in the world, and enjoy a breathtaking 360° panoramic view on the Mount Titlis on 3020 m (10,000 feet) above sea-level. After the short walk in the glacier we can admire the sundown (hopefully). Fondue chinoise à discretion will be served. Return around 11 pm to the accommodation. On Monday we offer two different activities: Visit of the lovely open-air museum Ballenberg located over the Lake of Brienz. On an easy walk of several hours you go to over 100 original century-old buildings from all over Switzerland. Genuine tools are worked with by craftsmen in original professions (from wood-carving, basket weaving, spinning) in some houses. Visit of the Mystery Park in Interlaken (between Lake of Brienz and Lake of Thun). This new Mystery Park is one of a kind adventure park, which presents the unexplained and yet very real mysteries of the world.
