1965, Peyton Cramer of Shelby American, Inc. decided to approach the Hertz car rental company with the radical concept of renting 1000 special high-performance '66 GT-350’s to their customers.The first GT-350’s were primarily 1965 models upgraded with four-speed transmissions, override traction bars, a special master cylinder to reduce pedal pressure, a speedometer with cables that could not be disconnected and the now-famous Hertz Black with Gold stripe paint scheme.

Cut desired decal from sheet. Dip decal in water for a few seconds. Place wet decal on paper towel. Wait until decal is movable on paper backing. Place decal in position on model, face up and slide backing away. Press out air bubbles with a soft damp cloth. Milkiness that may appear is for better decal adhesion and will dry clear. Wipe away any excess adhesive. Do not touch decal until fully dry. Allow the decals 48 hours to dry before applying clear coat.
