Description call for the local authority owned youth club building on Marvels Lane SE12 to be saved from demolition. They are campaigning to save the building and its use primarily for a Youth Service provision and other community based opportunities. Transition Heathrow is a grassroots action group working to build resilient Heathrow communities, capable of collectively coping with the injustices and threats of climate change and peak oil. Taking inspiration from other transition town projects, Transition Heathrow aims to draw out the juxtaposition of sustainability and airport expansion. We aim to promote grassroots solutions led and controlled by those directly impacted on the ground, such as Heathrow workers and residents. This enables communities to feel empowered rather than simply suffering the consequences of the profit-driven decisions imposed by corporate government elites. Growing Communities is a community-led organisation based in Hackney, North London, which is providing a real, practical alternative to the current damaging food system - changing what we eat, how we eat and how it's farmed. Over the past 20 years or so, we have worked to harness the collective buying power and skills of our community to reshape the food and farming systems that feed us. Our organic fruit and vegetable bag scheme and the Growing Communities Farmers' Market aim to provide more secure and fairer markets for the farmers, growers and producers who we believe should be the foundation of a sustainable agriculture system. East End Waterway campaign to protect HISTORIC CHEST HOSPITAL & CONSERVATION AREA Our mission is to help small grassroots organisations grow, by supporting them with crucial funding as well as advice. We believe in sharing our knowledge to help people improve projects, so they make an even greater impact. We work with all kinds of groups - from employment support services to educational centres and homeless shelters, to name just a few. Our knowledge of London’s communities and the challenges facing them helps us change lives. We’re here to inform our donors and partners, working in partnership to champion the projects our communities need. This means spotting bright ideas that make a big impact, so we can confidently invest in Just Space work that's truly effective. LCNC is a model of living differently in London that aims to be socially, environmentally and financially sustainable. Social sustainability promotes interdependence as a way of looking after the diverse needs and interests of an Intergenerational Housing Co-op that has both aging members and young families. The multistakeholder structure means that tenants, users of the community space and non-user investors are all included in decision making. LCNC will be based within a geographic community as an open and supportive neighbour. LCNC’s community centre will provide space for local, regional and national groups to meet, work and learn together. The community centre will offer life long learning Community opportunities for everyone. We also plan to provide formal apprenticeships in Food Growers sustainable building techniques, urban agriculture and hospitality.

Ravenscourt Park Glasshouses are situated in Ravenscourt Park next to the cafe. They were formerly used by the local authority and fell into disrepair. HCGA received permission to take over the management of the two large glasshouses and with support from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham we have brought the glasshouses back to life. We have aspirations to replace the current glasshouses to make a year round facility. The shelter of the glasshouses means we can deliver classes, events and volunteer sessions, with a reduced programme in the colder winter months. Sutton Community Farm is a community-owned farm. We started in 2010 in response to a community need with the purpose to increase access to fresh, healthy, sustainable food and provide a shared space for people to cultivate skills, get exercise and make new friends. Our farm sits on a beautiful 7.1 acre smallholding with views towards the skyline of central London. Our aims 1. To increase local food supply, grown sustainably; 2. To create inclusive, shared spaces for the community to cultivate skills; 3. To be community led; 4. To achieve economic stability, Community place based Food Growers supporting land-based employment.

academic The UK Cohousing Network was established following the UK’s first Cohousing Conference in Lancaster in 2007, to promote awareness of cohousing and support the development of new cohousing communities. The UK Cohousing Network is a membership organisation with a mission to enable communities to use the cohousing principles to create better places to live by reducing isolation and loneliness, and by sharing facilities and services reduce living costs. UKCN is a resource for members interested in Cohousing, enabling them to share information, advertise related services and connect up to discuss shared issues and learning. Our primary focus is to find ways to make cohousing more accessible, and to help shape the policy and network public funding environment to achieve this goal. UpRise is a new generation of a pro-equality and anti-discrimination movement, born out of the legacy of the Rise anti-racism festival. UpRise is a FREE festival for the community put on by the community, quite literally. It is also a year-round campaign featuring debates, discussions, talks, publications and all manner of innovative events and activities. place based I am organising local people to develop Vassall and Coldharbour Forum as a Green Flag neighbourhood; this is an attempt to resist redevelopment and preserve and enhance our living environment.
